The Ministry of Trade reported that the logistics and transport sector service exports, which amounted to 38.9 billion dollars in 2024, are targeted to reach 48 billion dollars in 2025 and 78 billion dollars in 2028. In the statement made, it was stated that investments in the transport and logistics sectors were increased in order to carry forward the strong position of our country in global trade, and it was emphasised that ‘It is planned to increase economies of scale by combining logistics services in strategic transport corridors passing through our country, to create transshipment centres to support intermodal transport and to strengthen supply chains by establishing logistics networks on a worldwide scale.’
Other major issues mentioned in the statement are;
-With the establishment of logistics distribution networks abroad, it is planned to increase access to large markets and become an important component of global supply chains,
-Logistics and transport sector constitutes 40 per cent of service exports and it is aimed to increase its share each year,
-The sector has a 2.5% share in global logistics exports with a market size of 100 billion dollars and ranks 11th in the world, positioning itself as both the locomotive of service exports and the most important component of foreign trade,
-38.9 billion dollars of the 115.2 billion dollars of service exports in 2024 was realised through the work of the logistics and transport sector,
-A total of 21 brands in the transport and logistics sector are profitting from the support of the Ministry of Trade, 9 of them are supported within the scope of the Branding programme and 12 of them are supported within the scope of the TURQUALITY programme and the highest payment is made to the logistics and transport sector,
-In 2024, national participation organisations were carried out to the most important fairs in Germany and Poland, individual participation support was provided to 133 international events abroad within the scope of the support legislation for the logistics and transport sector in 2024, 25 million TL resources were transferred to the logistics sector within the scope of individual participation support, and a total of 1 billion TL support was provided to the transport and logistics sector this year through support mechanisms as the Ministry of Trade,
-Following and analysing global developments in the logistics and transport sector and international transport trends, evolving strategies that will contribute to the national economy, preparing legislative and policy proposals by producing solutions to the problems faced by the private sector as a result of these developments,
-Works will continue in cooperation with the stakeholders of the sector for the target of reaching 48 billion dollars by the end of 2025 and 78 billion dollars by the end of 2028, which was 38.9 billion dollars in 2024.
